What is Mindful Parenting?

Mindful Parenting incorporates the ethos and practice of Mindfulness together with up to date strategies from neuroscience and the development or your child's brain.  Attachment theory and the core beliefs of connection and love as the foundation of teaching and learning are key to all the teaching and support I give.

Mindful Parenting has the utmost respect for both children and parents, a desire to grow and focus on how we can be the best parent possible, not perfect but positive about our children and ourselves and their potential.

The practice of mindfulness and the ability to be present for both our emotions and experiences as well as for our children's allows us to develop the skills of patience, calmness, acceptance and compassion.  From these skills our ability to manage our own emotions (self-regulation) enables us to role model and teach this to our children and this is the key to teaching all the additional skills - including resilience, perseverance, courage, empathy, listening, co-operation and relationship management.
